About the Event

More about our instructor, George Habieb:

Born in Reyad, Saudi Arabia to an Egyptian Family, George Habeib has been an artist from day one. From scrap paper drawings and doodles to formulating sketchbooks out of composition notebooks. Sticking mostly to drawing with some painting and dashes of other mediums intermingled in the works, George has been mastering their craft even without formal education in their elementary years.

Fast forward to 2022, George uses They/Them/Theirs pronouns and has a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Studio Arts with a concentration in 2-Dimensional Studio Arts (Painting, Drawing, Printmaking) with most of their classes being in Printmaking as well as a minor in Art History. They don’t have any big projects in the making after undergrad, however, they’ve definitely done good and fun things since then.

To name a few; working on album cover art, single art, promotional art and posters, pop-up art sales at Forever True Recordings music shows and venues, Punk Rock Flea Market, most recently they participated in a mutual project with The Bottom and Mighty Mud Studios, that is now on display at the Bottom!

Right now George is enjoying traveling and taking photos of new scenes, places and vibes and letting the creative energies work their magic. In an effort to expand their mind and their horizons, George is working through self-discovery and where their creativity lies. George loves gardening and is getting their spring garden up and coming with a few plants for dying being grown in the mix.

George is taking on the role of instructor for this event and has lots of lessons they would love to share in the near future. Along with this George is in OAKnox, or Open Arts Knoxville, a new local artist group that is still expanding and developing its reach and advocacy efforts. George is excited to work on more art on their own in collaboration with other artists of all experiences and mediums.
