About the Event
In this workshop attendees can create an individual quilt block using a variety of textile materials and decoration techniques, the blocks will then be sewn together to create a vibrant community quilt, that will be proudly displayed at The Bottom. This event is in partnership with UTK Galleries, Dr. Enkeshi El-Amin & Good Black Art's collaborative exhibition, The Bottom: Stories from the Neighborhood.
Delving into life in the neighborhood beyond its destruction, the exhibition is up until 8/3 and features works by @Ahmad George and @Erin LeAnn Mitchell, in addition to curated selections by Beauford and Joseph Delaney and Ruth Cobb Brice from the permanent collections of the Ewing Gallery of Art + Architecture and borrowed works from the Beauford Delaney Estate and the Beck Cultural Exchange Center to honor those visual artists who came before.
